We’re sure many of you are aware, one of the 3 major credit bureaus, Equifax, announced it suffered one of the most significant data breaches in the history of our country. Approximately 143 million Americans are affected and information such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, birth dates, addresses and credit card information was taken. Of particular significance is that most of this information is permanent for the lifetime of an individual. You can cancel a credit card but you can’t cancel your Social Security number or your birthdate.
