Janover Rubinroit is focused on one goal: Serving our clients the way we would wish to be served. This goal defines the very best of relationships. It is what you can expect of Janover Rubinroit. Our HistoryIn 1938, Richard Janover commenced practicing public accounting as Richard Janover, CPA. In the early 50’s, Richard Janover became partners with Hy Morse and Michael Berger. As the mid 60’s rolled around, Michael Berger left the firm and became controller of the NY Football Giants (which at the time was one of the firm’s clients).
The name of the firm was changed to Richard Janover & Company when Donald Miller and Michael Goodman became partners in 1972. By this point, Morse had left to join another firm. In 1975, the firm merged with Terry, Haywood & Rosenthal and Edward Godlin and Eli Littenberg were added as partners.
In 1987 the firm joined forces with Kalish Rubinroit & Company. After this merger, which was the biggest the firm had experienced, the firm’s name was changed to Janover Rubinroit & Company. In 1995 the firm entered a period of restructuring and it emerged as Janover Rubinroit, LLC, the name by which it is known today.
As the firm kept expanding, the need for more professionals with different areas of expertise allowed for many successful mergers to occur. In 1998, Marc Stoltz & Company entered as a joint venture firm. Freeberg & Freeberg, CPAs also became a part of the firm in 1998. Early in 2002, Samuel Greenberger, CPA, PC merged into the firm. In late 2003, Rosenzweig & Maffia, a specialist in publishing, sports, and entertainment accounting, joined the firm.
In the most recent years, three more important mergers occurred, adding more expert resources to the firm. The first merger was with the firm Gilbert & Levy in 2006 and the next merger was with the firm Roberts, Rick & Moses in early 2007. Our latest merger is with Alan Hoffman, formerly the partner in charge of the Real Estate Practice at Goldstein Golub Kessler LLP From its inception as Richard Janover, CPA, a sole practitioner, to Janover Rubinroit, LLC, the firm will be celebrating 70 years of service as it continues to grow and expand.
