Janover, LLC’s paperless workflow process was highlighted in a recent special supplement in Accounting Today magazine.
The article quotes Janover’s Fredric Silverman, Principal at the firm’s Garden City, NY office, as Janover being a firm that has gone beyond scanning. Effectively migrating to a true paperless environment, Janover is touted for reaping the benefits of emerging opportunities and better serving clients in the process.
“Some partners and managers spend a significant amount of time out of the office,” Mr. Silverman says. “”When your workflow control is paperless, you can check on the progress of tasks from any location where you can get a wi-fi or cell signal and keep the work on track.”
As a result, Janover is able to provide clients with better customer service, as data is quickly tracked and retrieved, as well easily shared with clients via secure portals.
“We are a firm of over 100 employees in two cities. When a client calls and wants to know where their tax return is, it can be time-consuming to find it in the office if it is not being tracked electronically,” points out Mr. Silverman.
He continues, “With workflow software, you can know the status of a tax return instantly, know who is currently working on the return and even review the preparer’s questions for the client. While you have the client on the phone, you can get the answers and quickly get them to the preparer – all without having the preparer present in the office.”
Janover started moving towards a paperless workflow about 10 years ago. This year, the firm is implementing one of the last steps in the process: scan and populate software for 1040s.
