Joseph Maffia, Janover Partner is Elected an Officer on the Board of Directors of the NYSSCPA

Janover LLC congratulates partner Joseph A. Maffia, CPA, CGMA, who will be installed as a Vice President of the Board of Directors for the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA). The Installation of the incoming Board Officers and Members will be held at a dinner event on May 29, 2019, Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Future, an event honoring the 100th president of the Society at The University Club in New York City.  Mr. Maffia’s one year term begins on June 1, 2019.

Mr. Maffia, a resident of New York City, has practiced public accounting for over 38 years. Serving businesses and individuals across a wide array of industries, including Technology & Software Development, Sports, Arts & Entertainment and Charities, Foundations & Not-For-Profits.  At Janover, Mr. Maffia serves as Co-Chair of the Quality Control Committee, having previously served on Janover’s Executive Committee.

Mr. Maffia is the past Chairman of the Accounting and Review Services Committee and the Entertainment and Sports Committee of the NYSSCPA. He also served on the Small Business Advisory Committee to the Financial Accounting Standards Board and on the Accounting and Review Services Committee of the American Institute of CPAs, helping to establish compilation and review standards for the profession. Additionally, Mr. Maffia has served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations including as a Trustee and Audit Committee Chairman of the Morris-Jumel Mansion Museum, as a Co-President of the Gertrude and Morrison Parker West Side Republican Party and as a Treasurer of The Alliance for New York State Arts Organizations.  He has also been a board member of Arts Action New York and was appointed to Manhattan’s Community Board #5.
