In addition to Joseph Tancer’s wide range of taxation and accounting specializations, he has been instrumental in helping businesses and individuals by setting up and providing training for business management computer software. He has also developed his own unique computer programs that can easily be adapted to fit a client’s needs. Handling many clients with foreign tax considerations, he is one of Janover LLC’s experts on cross border issues.
Never one to take “no” for an answer, Joe’s persistence and proactive approach help clients to achieve their financial goals even when faced with the most complex and challenging issues. Colleagues as well as clients benefit from Joe’s willingness to share knowledge, and he has mentored junior staff and welcomed the opportunity to conduct tax seminars for partners and senior staff.
Joe is licensed as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the world’s largest anti-fraud organization. He is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the New York State Society of CPAs and the Accountant/Attorney Networking Group.
Beginning his career at Liss, Knee & Okun CPAs, Joe went on to become a partner at Michaels, Sesholtz & Associates, CPAs P.C. and Tancer & Kokol, CPAs P.C. before rejoining Liss Okun & Associates. He and colleagues from Liss Okun joined Janover LLC in January of 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Brooklyn College.
