Mark Goodman is the long-time Managing Partner of Janover LLC. Mark brings a unique skillset to his clients. He is a skilled problem solver and is experienced in crisis management. Mark gains an intimate understanding of his clients and coaches them on how to be both more profitable and have more business/life balance and satisfaction.

Mark is very skilled at moderating stressful negotiations and conflicts. His practice focuses primarily on tax planning and consulting for high net worth individuals and their businesses, and he has advised clients on tax structuring and due diligence for more than 100 mergers and acquisitions. As the leader of a firm with more than 180 professional and support staff members, Mark brings a businessman’s perspective, unique among accountants, to his work with clients. If a client is facing a business challenge, odds are that Mark has also faced it – and successfully addressed it.

He is as comfortable speaking to seasoned entrepreneurs as he is to those who need help understanding basic tax planning concepts. Clients appreciate that he is an active listener who can calmly give them peace of mind during even the most turbulent times. As a subject matter expert, Mark is a frequent speaker at industry seminars, and he has been quoted in numerous merger-related and technical articles in Newsday, Long Island Business News and other leading publications.

Mark is a former member of the Governing Council of the American Institute of CPAs as an at-large member reporting directly to the president and CEO. He is also a former chairman of the New York State Society of CPAs’ Stock Brokerage Committee. He holds a FINRA Series 27 (Financial and Operations Principal) license.

Mark joined Janover LLC from former accounting powerhouse Arthur Andersen, where he first honed his mergers and acquisitions expertise. He earned a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, graduating cum laude.

Mark is actively and extensively involved in his community, he serves on the Advisory Board of the Cohen Children’s Medical Center and as former president and current trustee of the Children’s Medical Fund of New York and he and his wife are actively involved with UJA Summerfest. He is a member of the New York City Metro Chapter of the Young President’s Organization, served on the YPO International Deal and Golf Network Boards and was formerly the Long Island Chapter Chairman. He is also formerly the Secretary, Treasurer and a Trustee of the Glen Head Country Club.

Mark enjoys tennis, golf, travel and spending time with his wife and two grown daughters.
