Joe received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Iona College. He is a member of the adjunct faculty of Hunter College where he teaches advanced auditing in their graduate program. He also teaches auditing at Park
Avenue CPA Review. Joe is a former member of the Accounting and
Review Services Committee of the AICPA, which establishes compilation and
review standards for the profession.
He has performed technical review for the following CCH books; 2014 and 2013 Knowledge-Based Audits, Compilations, and Reviews of Common
Interest Realty Associations and the 2007/2008 CCH Compilations and Reviews as well as several accounting textbooks.
Joe has served on various non-profit boards including audit committee chair and trustee of the Morris-Jumel Mansion Museum, and Co-President of the Gertrude and Morrison Parker West Side Republican Club, Inc. in New York City.
He has served on the Board of Directors and was treasurer of The Alliance for New York State Arts Organizations, and Arts Action New York. Joe is also part of
many committees including past chairman of the Accounting and Review Services
Committee and Entertainment and Sports Committee of the New York
State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He currently
serves on the Financial Accounting Standards Board of the NYSSCPA.
Recently, Joe was appointed a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s Small Business Advisory Committee (SBAC). This committee advises the FASB on GAAP related to small business.
